Restaurant Blind Items

OK, so I have a bunch of photos from a bunch of places I really didn't enjoy. Rather than write up a crappy review for each of these crappy restaurants, I'll let you guess where the culinary offense happened.

1) What subpar pseudo-trendy restaurant near the Arclight serves low-grade ahi mixed with enough seasoning to just barely mask the spoiled tuna taste? The lotus root chips were the only edible part of this dish. Hint: it's not Hungry Cat.

2) What chain steakhouse is so full of itself for its fork-and-knife ribs (which really aren't all that), that it slips and serves mushy 3 inch tall ahi tuna rolls spiked with jicama? Jicama!

3) What DELICIOUS Thai Bistro recently pissed me off by refusing to deliver to my house because I live on the wrong side of the street accordingly to their delivery map? Seriously, we're talking 100-200 feet here people.

4) In the wake of the latest LA Fire Department scandal, what fast food chain continues to serve dog food in its spaghetti to the offense of rational people everywhere?

I don't think it's fair for me to play since I know the answers...

Ooh, how fun.

All I know is that the last one seems like the kind of nastiness that Jollibee would serve.

Awww, #4 is Jollibee (which I have grown a weird fondness for). I remember because I had you in mind when I reviewed the same dish at the branch in Cerritos. But yeah, it's quite a lot to handle. The Cheese, The Hot Dog, and that Candy Sweet Marinara!

I agree with rameniac on photo renaming ;)

the only I got right (on my own) was magnolia's for first one... I saw that scary ahi in person.

#2 is Houstons, which I remember because I was so horrified to see sushi offered on the menu.

The others I have no idea on, but whomever cooked that spaghetti should be arrested. Gives me the shudders to look at your picture. One of my favorite appropriate cooking quotes is from Henry Miller, who wrote "the soup was cold and tasteless and made by someone who had no love in their life".

1. No idea.
2. Houston's i know serves sushi now. And they used to be damn good for a chain joint. Am i right?
3. That looks like more westernized thai food to me. i'm gonna guess Palms???
4. Has and must be Jollibee's. J and I drive by it all the time.
